Privacy Policy
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Our applications are designed to work without an account and to keep your data on your device, unless an application clearly tells you otherwise. We never sell personal data, and we never share it for advertising. Anything we do hold, we hold because you sent it to us, and you may ask us to delete it at any time.
I. Who we are
Seraphic Order is an independent studio for digital creation. It publishes this website and a number of applications, pieces of software and experimental digital products (together, the applications). In this policy, we and us mean Seraphic Order.
For anything concerning your privacy, write to contact@seraphicorder.com.
This policy covers the website and every application we publish. Where an application needs to tell you something more specific, that notice is listed in section V below and inside the application itself. The more specific notice applies in addition to this policy.
II. This website
seraphicorder.com is a static website. It has no accounts, no forms, no comment system and no advertising. It does not set cookies, use local storage for tracking, or load scripts, fonts or images from third parties. We do not use analytics of any kind, so we do not know who visits.
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub receives your IP address and standard request details when your browser fetches a page, and may keep them in security logs for a limited time. This is described in the GitHub General Privacy Statement. We have no access to those logs.
If you write to us by e-mail, we receive your address and whatever you choose to tell us. We use it only to reply and to deal with your request.
III. Our applications
Every application we publish follows the same principles, whatever platform it runs on.
- Data stays with you. By default, what you create or enter in an application is stored on your own device and is not transmitted to us. If an application offers to synchronise or back up your data, it does so only when you turn that feature on, and it tells you where the data goes.
- No advertising, no tracking. Our applications contain no advertising networks and no tracking or behavioural analytics software, unless an application asks for your consent first and you give it.
- Permissions are asked for a reason. If an application asks for access to your camera, microphone, photos, location, contacts, notifications or similar, it does so for a feature you can see, uses it only for that feature, and does not send that data to us unless the feature itself requires it and says so.
- Accounts are optional. Where an application offers a sign-in, it also works as a guest wherever possible. A sign-in is handled by a sign-in provider named in the application; we never see your password.
- Platform services. Applications are distributed through Google Play and the App Store. Those platforms process your account, downloads and any purchases under their own privacy terms. We do not receive your payment details. Where a platform offers us aggregate, anonymous figures such as download counts or crash statistics, we may look at them to keep the application working.
- Third-party services, if any. If a specific application relies on an external service, for example for maps, sign-in, weather data or cloud storage, the notice for that application in section V names the service and what it receives.
IV. What we keep, and for how long
In most cases we keep nothing about you at all. The exceptions are:
- Account data, for applications that offer an account: the data the application stores on our servers for that account, kept for as long as the account exists. You can delete the account and everything with it at any time; see Delete your account and data.
- Correspondence. E-mails you send us, kept for as long as needed to answer you and handle any follow-up, and then deleted within a reasonable time.
- Support details. If you send diagnostic information or screenshots to help us fix a problem, we keep them only while working on that problem.
We do not sell personal data, rent it, or share it with anyone for marketing. We would disclose information only if required by law, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
V. Application-specific notices
None of our applications currently requires a notice beyond this policy. When one does, it will be recorded here with the application's name, the data it processes, the purpose, and any third-party service involved.
VI. Children
Our website and applications are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
VII. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to receive a copy of it, to object to or restrict its processing, and to complain to a data protection authority. Because we hold so little, exercising these rights usually means deleting an account inside an application or asking us to delete an e-mail exchange, which we will do.
To make a request, write to contact@seraphicorder.com. We will answer within one month.
VIII. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect what little we hold, and we design our applications so that there is as little to protect as possible. No system is perfectly secure, and data kept on your own device is protected by the security of that device.
IX. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will publish the new version at this address with a new effective date. Where a change materially affects an application you use, the application will tell you as well.
